Stephanie Steevenson is a History graduate and taught History in a mainstream Secondary school for 11 years.  She then transferred to the school where she now teaches, a Special School in Newbury. Alf Wheeler was born in Windsor, Berkshire and educated at Windsor County Boy's School. In 1949 his family moved to Shinfield near Reading and took up Market Gardening. After National Service in the RAF he studied Mechanical Engineering at Reading College of Further Education, working first at Pulsometer Engineering Co. and later at AERE Harwell.
